Every time I open a previously written Word document in my Word 2002
(Office XP) and immediately close it without changing anything, Word
asks me if I want to save the changed doc.  But I did not do anything
other than open and close it.

Before I call Documents.Open() method, I want to know if the doc's full name
is invalid in any OS(eg, English os, JPN, CN).

One can make an ordered list going down the page. Is there a way that
one could make the ordering of the list go first from left to right
and then down and left to right again?  For example,

I use Word 2003. How do I search for all examples of hyphens between
two digits (e.g. change 112-14 to 112-14) and replace them with en-

I tried replace ^#^37^# with ^= but this deleted the two digits. How

I have made many tweaks to my Word 2000 installation: macros, tool

I have a basic question.  We have a company letterhead which we have defined
as a header.   How do we set up word so that every time we open up a new

I have a picture on a page, and I set it to be behind text.  Now I cannot
click on it, nor can I change it to not be behind text.  Do I have to start
over?  I have clicked all over the page to try to select the picture so I
can modify it.  It's like it's hidden or something.

word I don't find an custom outline number gallary.
Related problem is that level 1 changes but level two continues form level 2
