i need to display an "+" or "-" in the bottom of each document page to

I am working with WORD 2003.   Somewhere along the line, I have
changed something that has caused pararagraph markers to be shown and
a frame at the lefthand side of screen  that says "Normal" adjacent to
each line within the text body.

I have a template which automatically puts a date in each time it is
opened which is great.  The trouble is that when I save the document
and open up a day later the date has changed to the current date
whereas I want it to remain at the date when I originally created the

I have had this problem for ages.  Every now and then I get an email that
causes all new lines to be spaced an extra line apart.  For example:

I'm having difficulty with Line spacing in a bulleted document.
I want to have 1 space between lines within the bullets, but 2 lines between
the end of one bullet and the next.
