believe the computer i both on ebay is one designed for europeans.  i do see
quite a few items in chinese...and some symbols on keys, don't match when key

When I want to center a row of text in a list in MS Word 2003, I mark
(highlight) that text and then choose the 'center' from the four paragraph
alignment options. The problem now: ALL of the items in the list are
centered, not just the one I have chosen.

I cannot select text with the cursor/pointer in Word 2007.  I am able to
select text with the cursor in Excel and other programs, so I know my mouse
is working.  I have a laptop with a built-in mouse-pad.
