I have a table and would like to colour the entire background of a cell in the table. I am able to colour the text in the cell, but not the entire background of the cell (so I have a rectangular block of colour). I am using Word 2003.

Hi. I created a calendar in Word 2003 using a Microsoft template. Every time I open the calendar a "Template Help" sidebar opens, squeezing off about 25% of my screen space. I close the sidebar each time but is there a way I can stop it from coming up?

On the formatting toolbar, there is only an option to center text in the middle of a page, table or cell. How do you center text vertically within a cell, so that the text has equal space above and below?

There is a feature that will expand text horizontally, in Format, Font, character spacing....expanded, condensed. However, this only seems to affect the characters horizontally. Is there one that will expand the characters vertically?

form the box using "Tables" before I enter text and set tab leaders, because when I hit TAB, I create a new box.....it doesn't work inside a cell the way it does without. I can't format the text and then wrap a box around it because it covers all the text...this is the same with ...

Do I have to use a text box rather than a table, because if I tab inside a cell, I end up creating duplicating cells rather than a line followed by some text.

When I moved from XP to Vista on a new computer and transferred my files and settings over to it, all my Word '97 files were changed from Word to ".txt" files. I now understand that my Word '97 won't work on Vista and that's why this happened. Now I've bought a registered copy ...

WOW... what a very RUDE awakening! I've "upgraded" from 2000 to 2007 and I am totally LOST... In 2000 I was able to add the bar code to my envelopes... I don't see this option in 2007, nor can I find any help on this...
