If I open an existing document in Word, just look at it and do nothing to it, when I select"close" it asks me if I want to "save changes" when there have been none! Is it possible to stop this? Regards and thanks in advance

When a document is opened, 'Review > Final Showing Markup' is the default. I know how to set it to be 'Final' for a given document, but can the default be set to 'Final' for all documents? Chuck

In Word 2003 I set the tabs and after I use the tab key once or twice the tab marker disappears. I set tabs on the ruler and tried in the Format >Tab dialog box. Even click Set > Okay but the tab marks don't stay put. What am I missing? TIA
