Word 2003 had a very useful menu for counting characters. All you needed to
do was to select the text whose characters you wanted to count (with or
without spaces) and to click the "count" button. I've recently changed to
Word 2007 and unfortunately, that menu is nowhere to be ...

I use Word 2003 and I have a 125 page document that I need pull some information from. Is there a way to do a word or phrase search within a document?

Is there any way to search an entire folder of Word documents for a
particular word or phrase? The only thing I can seem to search for is the
title of individual documents. Using Word 2003.
