So the two versions of Outlook have to be the same?

I used to be able to reserve conference rooms with Outlook XP.
Now that I've updated to Outlook 2003, I don't get the confirmation I used
to get nor do I actually get the room reserved.
This appears to fail in either Cached or on-line mode.

My date navigator has disappeared from the calendar page.
I've looked for assistance on turning it back on, but no
success.  Help doesn't even mention it - only the tutorial
says anything about it and then only gives you the name.
