Yesterday my distribution lists were in outlook contacts and today they are gone. Third time this has happened...any ideas? I hate to keep recreating them.

I've just reinstalled Outlook XP on a new hard disc but cannot add my old contacts into Outlook as the .pst extension isn't installed on my new machine for some reason and so not recognised. Have downloaded SP3 but makes no odds. Any advice before I try reinstalling Outlook.
