Printer & faxes folder Right Mouse > Set up faxing > It configures fax component Then that's it , no fax no nothing. David

When I install fax (set up fax, Machine on Printers & faxes folder) it goes thought the install and I see the phone icon appear in the folder, and then it disappears and no fax machine!
Any idea's?

When I scan in a document and send it as a fax using XP Fax, My
computer sends an extra blank (except for the time/date banner) page.

I have a batch file that runs every night which is designed to copy only the
new faxes from the fax consoles archive folders over my peer to peer network
and on to another hard drive on another computer.

I have created a new set of contacts and called it "Contacts2" in
Outlook 2003.  I wish to use these new set of contacts and send fax's
from them, the problem is that the address book in Microsoft Fax does

I used to be simple.  To send a fax from outlook.  all you had to do was
setup winfax and poof.  You coudl send attachments and all that.  worked
fine!  Now, you can only send a fax via word if you want to send it via
a modem on the machine.  You can't send via Excel or anything ...

Is there a way to make the Microsoft fax service NOT use the same file
name (FAX.TIF) for all incoming faxes through the email routing method?

Is there any way to tell the Fax Monitor to show the name, instead of
the phone number as the Callers ID.  I know the Fax software that comes
with Windows XP, uses the Windows Address Book for sending faxes, but
can it use it for looking up the persons name as well.  If so, how?

just curious, can winfax phonebook convert to a format that outlook can
import?  I have many, ie 1000+ numbers in winfax, winfax will not work
on my machine with xp and help of tech support.  I am hoping I can save
my hard work, and recover it through outlook somehow for my next ...
