every couple of days outlook will not open completely, I click on the icon and outlook window comes up but the outlook block stays in the middle of the scree and the cursor remains in hour glass mode, no lights flashing on

Attachments are from Outlook 2003 They open in Word 2003 (11.5604.5606) WinXP. All word attachments which I open from Outlook open in word ok, however they are all read only.

My Outlook 2000 is running Internet Mail Mode, my pst file is now 1.2GB. I removed some mails and compact the file. The 'compact now' dialog box show 1 second and finished, but the file size did not reduce. Anyone can help me?
