When I try to send a Word Doc as an attachment the other person receives the
attachment as an *.DAT file. Why is this hapenning?

My boss has several mail addresses in hotmail and when he is connected to
Outlook to check it he receives the following message:
A connection to the server cannot be established.
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp is now off line

I am trying newsgroups for the first time in OE 6 - I had previously used
Netscape with no problems.  When I click on a newsgroup post, it appears by
the filesize that there's an attachment.  However, instead of an attachment,

YHi all, I have very recently upgraded office from 2000 to 2003, student and
teacher edition.
All but Outlook 2003 is working fine, when I open Outlook it says "Your
Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable" - Retry, Work offline or Cancel.

Is there any settings in Outlook 2003, Calendar to limit the displayed day to
7AM to 7PM for example?

I upgraded from outlook 2000 to outlook 2003.  My Desktop Icon is the old
2000 icon however all other icons are the new 2003 icon.  How can I change
my desktop to be the new icon?

I have 2 email accounts that I use at home.  One is from my ISP and the
other is our exchange server at work that I can access over my VPN.
Is there a way to change the "delivery new e-mail to the following location"
so that I have one going to my personal folders (from my ISP) and ...

Hello,  I have a hand held device which I sync with outlook.  The syncing
process takes forever because my calendar goes back to 2000.  I would like
to fix this by clearing the old calendar events but I don't know how.  Any
info would be greatly appreciated.

I believe I have done everything necessary to configure Outlook 97 Pro
to send and receive mail, via Netzero.com.
I do not use the WEBMAIL in Netzero...just the regular MY NETZERO MAIL.

I try to index outlook 2000 mail with google desktop search engine
without success.
My system: XP SP1. I have both outlook express and outlook 2000
installed, outlook 2000 is my default mail program.

Why can't I see any pictures in any email received in Outlook? This doesnt
refer to attachments, just the HTML images that make up logos, for example.
I dont think I flipped a setting, and when I forward the email to my hotmail
box, all the html pictures show up.....

Does anyone know how to change the default outgoing message encoding in Outlook 2003? When I go to Format -> Encoding, "US-ASCII" is always checked. I've tried selecting other encodings and they work for that one time only.

I bought a new PDA and am having an issue with Outlook and MS ActiveSync.  I
have a few add-in's (Acrobat, MapPoint and a custom email stationary
program) that do not load when I boot the computer and open Outlook.  Turns
out, ActiveSync is opening Outlook in the background not ...

I am not able to select the Block Sender option from my Messages list within
Express as it is greyed out, can anybody tell me why this is and how can i
resolve it.

I just switched to outlook. We have 5 different user names, each with our own
e-mail address, but I can't figure out how to switch from one person to
another, and the user that I set as my default isn't the one that it defaults
to.
