I have no messages in my outbox folder, but when sending and receiving emails, outlook always tries to send 1 or 1. If I do have one email waiting then it is sending 1 of 2. There may have been an email that was deleted, unsent. But how to I get rid

After installing the security updates today, my Outlook no longer worked. It prompted to run Outlook and make it the default mail client.
