When I try to insert a slide from file, the thumbnail images are not shown. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I did not have this problem when using the powerpoint XP program. Operating system is Windows 2000.

Inserting an .avi into a ppt slide causes Powerpoint to crash. Installing WINDVD seems to have caused the problem and though it's completely removed even from the registry the problem remains. Office Detect and repair is perfomed
