it has ALWAYS seemed weird that one of THE most used buttons in PowerPoint -
the start slideshow from current slide (the button equivalent to SHIFT-F5) is
a tiny tiny button.
It should be a BIG button - everyone uses it!

I 'am working on a word doc and I need to insert a picture of my (my
documents folder when it is open. like a complete screen shot as you are
looking at the monitor.

I would like to automatically copy all text in all notes pages in a

I lost a large spreadsheet due to a hard drive failure.  I had pasted charts
from the spreadsheet into powerpoint.  I have that presentation.  When I
doubleclick the chart, I can see all of my tabs and data.  How can I extract
that into an excel spreadsheet again?

Since installing XP SP2, my presentations with mpegs
freeze when I click on the slide to run it.  The mpeg
runs correctly Normal view but freezes in slide show and
must use task manager to escape lockup.

What image size and/or  resolution do photos need to be in
a PowerPoint presentation for good quality projection on a
large screen?

If I repeatedly use the Format picture option to Compress Pictures, Select
either Web/Screen or Print, and check the "Compress Pictures" box, will the
quality of the pictures keep being degraded each time, or once they are
compressed, does it know that and not try to recompress ...

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to see what type of
file (picture etc.) and size has been embedded into a
powerpoint presentation?

I have a PowerPoint presentation and would like to create the covers for the
box and a label for the CD.

I need to send a PPA file to a multitude of out users.  I

When opening a file with embedded fonts in Powerpoint
2003, you receive the following error:
"This presentation cannot be edited because it contains a
read-only embedded font."

In powerpoint 2003 the transition "fade smoothly" is missing like all new
animation effect in ITALIAN version of PPT 2003.
And new animation effect are not disabled.
Why??
