What is the difference between custom animation and transition effects?

This sounds silly but I cannot figure out how to redisplay a data series I
have hidden.  I clicked on a data series and then the "format data series"
box appears.  Inside there is a radio button to hide the series.  All ok so
far.  However, once I have hidden the series, I cannot ...

I have a new install of Powerpoint 2000 SP-3 9.0.6620.  When playing a pps
that was sent to me that has timed slides, the slides will "stack" on top of
each other.  Every few slides it will clear.  I installed the pptplayer

Here is the dilemma.
I opened view...Master...slide master
Now I'd like to print this master, however print preview does not show the
actual slide text. What have we done wrong? Can this be fixed without redoing

I've tried running the Help ungroup example, but VBA complained with a Run
time error '70' - Permission denied
Does someone have an idea what's up?

Is it a ppt default for legends and axis labels to change when edited.
My charts are unbolded with no area formatting. When I insert a chart
(ppt 2000), and edit the axis labels, these become bolded, and the
legend becomes bolded with area formatting.

Does anyone know of a way to have a PPS file open automatically when a user
inserts the CD that it is on?

Office Power Point 2003 based upon the salesperson's recommendation at

I've created a presentation using PPT 2000 (I think) from work... It's a
machine running Windows XP and Office 2000 or Office XP (is there such a

I can open a powerpoint file with office 2002 but when i try with powerpoint
2003 it tells me that it can't read the path. Please advise. I've tried
disabling my Virus software to no avail and also i've got the latest patchs'
for it. Can you please help?

the picture tool bar is displayed and the picture is selected but the crop
tool cannot be selected, any ideas?
