I am creating powerpoint presentations on an HP laptop with a widescreen
display. When I project the slides, they appear distorted and "squashed" to a

I would like to e-mail handouts of a PP presentation with 6 slides per page,
a total of 9 pages. I saved the handouts to a file but I am unable to open
the file after I test e-mail to myself. Any suggestions on how I could do

Can anyone tell me if Powerpoint is able to or has plans to support lower
layer looped animated backgrounds in either mpeg or flash format ?

I run a presentation for real estate agents.  Basically, a master slide has
been built to showcase a home for sale.  This template includes a broker
specific background, "holes" for a picture of each home, and a text box for
4-5 bullet points (number of bedrooms, number of baths, ...

Is there a way to display a PPT file on the web but prevent it from being
downloaded by the user, I prefer not to use a PPT to Flash convertor as it
does not fully/correctly animate each slide.

If I have an mpeg movie in my powerpoint presentation and switch PCs, the
only way I can re-link the movie to the new location is by deleting the movie
clip with the invalid link and re-inserting it with the correct location.  
This also means re-defining my loop and action ...

when i want to edit a ppt file and open it, the file automatically opens as a
slideshow. when i escape, the show ends and the file automatically closes. i
know that this is what happens with .pps files, but it shouldn't happen with
.ppt files.

In PowerPoint 2003, I have a couple of file names on the Getting
Started window that don't go anywhere.  They also appear in the recent
files list.  The files were probably deleted using Explorer.  How can
I delete these invalid names on the Getting Started page?
