I use Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 to set the password for my PowerPoint files. My password protected PowerPoint files which created by using PowerPoint 2003 cannot be opened by the earlier version of Microsoft PowerPoint. Why?

I have found that unlike work excel etc powerpoint doesn't let me run multiple instances of the program. Word will allow two word programs running at the same time why not powerpoint. I can do it useing "runas" but that is not satisfactory -needs to be easy

Each time I close Powerpoint, I received a message "Microsoft Visual Basic. System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Catastrophic failure." I tried re-starting Powerpoint it still didn't worked. I get the same error message. I am using Office 2000.
