I have a box that I set the color to 50% transparency. It flashes and I cannot stop it from flashing. It does not do this in Office XP... why?

I, like several other poster, have trouble with bloated powerpoint files. I include lots of pictures and regularly get files between 40 and 70M - sometimes bigger. I use Powepoint 97. I have tried most of the suggestions so far:

I moved wordart to the back of my slide for draft documents. Now, I need to remove that wordart from the slides and I'm not sure how to. I can't select the wordart because its to the back of the slide. Any help would be appreciated.

Where can I make the "File Open" window default to the "Details" view? It always opens to the "Preview" view, which drives me crazy! My Excel and Word always open in the "Details" view, but I cannot locate where to change the setting for PowerPoint.

I have been finding that .wmv files created by moviemaker are slow to open when inserted into powerpoint (take about 30 secs to start playing) any ideas?
