it gets dark while running and is barely visible.  The .mpg file will run

I am having the darndest time getting timing right on my key slides.  I have
a graphic that comes in and bounces, then the title, then there are two more
small text boxes that come in.  But then it jumps to the next slide with out
pause in like a 1000th of a second.  I've checked ...

All of a sudden I lost my outline and slide views on the left side of the
page. They used to look like the actual slides with colors, etc and now they
are all white squares. I don't see these options in the View menu either.
How can I restore them?
