I'm in a discussion with a couple of designers and I'm a little unsure about what questions to ask. One says it is OK to insert jpegs and gifs in a publisher project for preprinting, but the other says he only recommends bitmaps, tiffs and png's

I am working on a school yearbook. I am working with the pictures in Paint Shop Pro XI and copying and pasting them into my Publisher 2003 publication at 600 dpi. But when I copy and paste them back into Paint Shop Pro they are resized at 72 dpi.

all i want to do is print a half page flyer with the top and bottom of the page the same so i can just cut them in half later. every thing looks good till i look at print preview and its split up across 4 pages. Wuts up with that. How do I get it all on one page.

The printer I am sending a job to asked if I could change the text to paths, or create outline?? She said it would then look like little dot-to-dots. I cant seem to find anything similar to that, does anyone know what they are talking about, or offer suggestions?
