name after the file name) as other Office applications, but Publisher keeps

When I am working in Publisher, the screen re-writes itself every time I
click in a different area on the page, making it "jump around" on the screen.
This is hard to deal with when I am fine-tuning object positions.  Any way
to suppress the re-write feature?

By default, it drops it right in the middle of each page.

redrawn?  Is there a way around this?  It wouldn't be an issue, but each page
loads so slowly and strangely; writing that ends ...
