When I convert my pub file to a pdf file the color of the fonts change to

Does anyone know how to protect a document once it has been created so that
no other user can make changes to the master document and only the creater of
the document can make needed changes?

I'm about to bite the bullet and replace my 9 year old computer, but
Vista scares me.  ;-)  I use Microsoft Publisher 97 once in a while to
