Word crashing after 30 seconds.28 Aug 2003 18:18 GMT1
I had Office 2000 installed, and my Word would crash
after about 30 seconds.  There was nothing I could do to
fix this, I tried uninstall/reinstalling, renaming Data
and Options regkeys and Repairing, nothing worked.

I can not figure out how to get rid of errors that keep
popping up and causeing me to crash.....
1- explorer error comes up and closes my program down and
I get a blank screen..no icons that is

On printed page the following appears: "Error! Main
Document Only. It does not show on screen, I cannot find
it in the background, any of the available "view" options,
nor in the header/footer area.

Does anyone know how to recover the blank/new document
template.  I've overwritten it with a document name and
now when I open Word, instead of opening up to a blank/new
document it opens up to the document which I named and

Apparently Microsoft itself takes no responsibility for the
software it puts out, as I have been sent in the same
infinite loop looking for help on their website only to
find out that there is no help out there from them.

Using Word 2000 SR-1.  The fields CREATEDATE and CREATETIME both return the date
and time the file was last *modified* rather then the date and time it was
created.
Is there a trick here that I'm missing, or is this a known fault in Word 2000

Hi, im hopeing someone out there can help. A user has reported that
when they try to open certain word documents received via Outlook
2000, Word either takes forever to open them or doesnt open them at

What does ~$ mean when it is in front of a file name? We
open our files and when we close them the file name will
have the tilde and daollar sign in front of it and will
not let us reopen it.

The first message I got: Word failed to start correctly
last time. Starting Word in Safe mode will help you
correct or isolate a startup problem in order to

since getting latest drivers/updates, etc (from microsoft
site) now Word seems corrupted, and I can't locate the
setup.exe file in Explorer.  Afraid to re-install in case
it ruins other things, and I'm unsure of which disc to
