winword shows illegal operation when I try to open any
word documents

Please help me.  I have Windows 2000 Prof. OS and am
running MS Office 2000.  Everything worked fine on
Wednesday night.  Thursday when I tried to used Word I get

Recently when I double click words documents or calling
word program I always found above error, if I click Ok the
program seemed normal, is there any method to get rid

Unexpectedly, the appearance of Word 2000 has changed.
All of the menus and toolbars have disappeared, and are
replaced by a ruler at the top, and sliders at right and
bottom.

I am using Word 2000, and I don't know why the Spelling and Grammer check no
longer works. Then I go to Tools menu, click Options, and I couldn't even
click the Spelling & Grammar tab. But other tabs are working fine. Any

How do I open a .asd file  - Autorecovery saved it as ONLY
that? Autorecovery was setup to save as .doc every 10
