Running Windows 98 and office 2000. The problem just

If I try to open a saved document from Word 2000 the program freezes. I get
a message in a white box saying system is low on resources do I want to quit
word. If I double click on a word file in explorer the document opens OK.
This has only just started happening after two years ...

I am in search of finding out how to go about installing
Word 2000 and 2002.  Do I have to update my Windows 98 in
order to do so?  I have spent WAY TO MANY HOURS online and
I'm exhausted with my simple, yet basic, search. I

Marking an index entry with Alt-Shift-X in Word 2002 always turns on
"Reveal all formatting" which makes it difficult to read through the
rest of the document to look for more entries to mark. Is there a way
to mark an index entry without turning on Reval all formatting?

Word 97 locks up the computer at data window, the one with
licened user and serial number.  Have re-instaled twice,
loaded service pack 1 & 2.  Still locks up.  Powerpoint
and Excel works fine.  Please if any one knows of a fix

In my Tools menu the "Mail Merge..." option is breeding:
