Word takes a long time to open08 Nov 2003 00:00 GMT2
This problem started a week ago -- it takes at least 1
minute for Word to open, and then close to 1 minute for
each file to open.  I haven't encountered this problem in
the past.

Every time I open Word it seems to open a new document
titled Document1, Document2 etc. It's now up to
Document14 which is indicative of how many time word has
crashed on me. Themessage I get is:

We are running Word 2002.  In all previous versions of
Word, you are able to "auto complete" the current date as
long as "Show AutoComplete Suggestions" was selected in
the Autotext box.

document command from tools, i couldnt edit the document,
obviously. but now when i open any other document in
word, i cant edit anything or alter any document,

I suddenly lost the file pulldown menu.  I re-installed
work, but it did not help.  any ideas ?

Winword.exe generates a fault when you try to open word
clicking on the icon the message reports trying to open a
file  with " (a box symbol) which I would assume, that is
a null symbol. If you go to an old file you can open word.

In Word 2000, I get the message, "winword.exe has generated an error, and will be closed."  I only get this message when I click on the tools menu.  I have removed my software and reload.  It still occurs.  Please help.

I use MS Word 2000.  Recently, I started to receive this
message as I opened existing documents:
"The document could not be registered.  It will not be
possible to create links from other documents to this

we are having a problem with word 00 locking up when we
choose print, sometimes it happens just on ok and other
times it locks up when we choose local or network printer.

If I highlight a line of text and use either the keyboard
shortcut (Ctrl B) or the B button on the toolbar the whole
document become bold.
If I use undo (Crtl Z) then I can unbold the rest of the

All folders (and files inside them) in My Documents all of
a sudden have changed their order to reverse (Z to A, 9 to
1). This is viewable both when I open My Documents folder
directly and from inside a Word file. Wnat's more
