the command cannot be performed because a dialog box is
open.  click ok, and the close the dialog boxes to continue
happens after trying to open doc by double clicking it.  
what gives?

When i install Adobe Acrobat 5 on a pc with windows xp word files
containing tables will not open. If i uninstall adobe they work fine
again. has anyone ever heard of this before?

We bought our pc from Gateway a little over a year ago.
About a month ago we got a virus and had to delete
everything from our system. When I reinstalled all the
progrmas everything is working fine except for Word. I

I have Word 2000 SR1 + SP3 on Windows 2000 SP4. There is
plenty of disc space, I have defragged the disc,
uninstalled Office, run a Registry cleaner, reinstalled
Office, to no avail. I have also tried renaming

If I insert the date into a word 2000 document (01/03/03 format) what I see
on the screen is just what I need, but when I print out a hard copy the date
is corrupt this can be random letters or numbers or both.
I am also told the mail merge will not work on this PC.

I have no idea if this is the right place to post my

I did the update for Office XP and every time I open any
of the programs, Outlook, Word, excel I get the user
agreement.  Also when I open Outlook Word opens also.

Whenever i open Word XP, there is already text typed into
the document, even though i am opening a new document. Its
as though i am opening a template, but this is impossible
as i am specifically clicking on 'create new document'.

When we are finished with a document, we turn track
changes off.  TRK is dim.  We save the Document and open
it again and TRK is ON.
