I had to reinstall word97, could not get it to start. Finally got Word where it will open and does its "normal" thing. only now i do not have spell check or thesaurus. I tried reinstalling them but still nothing. HELP!!!!!!!

When I am using Word 2002, every 6 to 10 seconds the text select pointer changes to hourglass. This becomes very disruptive while typing. What is this? and how do I disable it.?
