I am running Word XP on XP Home with an Athlon.
When I select text (and perhaps at other times) often
black horizontal lines appear on the screen and remain
until I close the document and reopen it. They are not

Word in office xp won't open a document unless you use
file open. If you double click the file name it opens a
blank doc.
Any ideas?

Word2000. I often need to put math equations in my docs.  
For fractions I use the form where numerator & denominator

preview, and if you right click edit the picture you can
edit it directly as is normal

the setting to Labels, then change settings to Avery A4
