Updated A Dell Inspiron-7000 to Windows-2000..When I am in Word, typing the cusor will jump around. Jumps from one line to another.....Is their a fix for this problem?

After making changes to my documents, I go to exit from Word. Sometimes the prompt "do you want to save changes" comes up and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, Word shuts down and no document changes are saved. Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions out there?

I tried to open a 4MB file with graphics. Application closes. RAM in my computer is 506MB Windows 2000, Office 2000 pro. It opens on other computers.
