When I go to retrieve a file from a disk in drive A, it
tells me to check file permissions.  Does anyone know what

The Symbol drop down appears to be disabled - it occurred out of the blue on my old Word 99 Edition. I bought a new Word 2002 and loaded it onto my PC and the Symbol drop down is still disabled. If I go into the Symbol display the cursor will not highlight individual characters ...

I can't seem to get my enter key to work in Word,

Each time a new document is created, the ability to use
the Enter key is disabled.  Autoformat was turned on when
this error occurred, however, it has been turned off and
the problem still persists.

I have Windows XP Home on a new Gateway Laptop. I installed Word 2000. When
I go to use AutoText for filename and path, or page # of #of pages I get the
words "filename and path" or "Page # of # of pages" instead of the filename
and path of the document I am working on.
