every time i open word i get fatal error "pure virtual device called" with "hpbf3220.drv" and then it closes word i've tried scanning for viruses and re-installing word but no joy I would really appreciate any help or

When I open WORD 2003 I get a message "The global template normal.dot is already open as an add-in program." I have no idea what this means nor what to do to get rid of it.

I am unable to run MS Word at all with Works 6.0 (on Windows XP), I have heard of this happening before but the only solution I know of is to buy MS Office--are there any other options? Could it be just a problem with Word 2000

I'm getting an error on one of my computers (but not the others) when opening an existing Word document in the Word 2003 version. The message says "This command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click OK and then close open dialog boxes to continue."

We I launch Word, I see the large blue "W" graphic and an hour glass, but the application never opens. The computer then freezes. I am running ME. Thanks for any help. Kim

That's the problem. I never use mail merge, but the tools menu now has about thirty "mail merge" entries on it. I did once delete them all (though I can't remember how I did it), but they all crept back again. Is there a simple answer?
