When I download a pdf or other file to word it is asking for a conversion eg. keeps coming up on Japanese.  I select default or US and all it is is little squares and I can not read this.  How do I correct this problem?  I have uninstalled and reinstalled my microslft works suite ...

I can see the file but when I try to open it tells me "Document name or path is invalid". Was working on it yesterday. Note: I did a disk clean-up today before I try to open it again. Thank you from Iraq

It seems to me that my Word 2003 program constantly re-issues a corrupted
Normal.dot file after word closes:
If I first remove the Normal.dot file, I can start word in WIN XP without problems.
