I have a number of documents that print differently than what is displayed in Print Preview. Typically one or two lines switched around on the actual document compared to what is displayed on the screen in Print Preview.

Error! No table of contents entries found. I get the above error message when I select "update field" after making changes in the Table of Contents. It does the same for both Word 97 and XP.

I have located my normal.dot files, however, when I try to change the name, as instructed, I get an error message that tells me "internet explorer will shut down." What does this mean? Is there another way to change the name?

Each time I open or close an office program (word, excel etc) I receive a compile error in hidden module: auto exec (visual basic.) This must be OK'd before I can open or close the program. How do I repair or remove this

All I want to do is have main headings numbered 1,2,3... each with numbered sub-paragraphs 1.1,1.2 then 2.1, 2.2 etc How do you do this? Every time I get it just about working, a small change in one paragraph ruins all.

can anyone help? i'm using a mac osx with word 2001. i've been writing a chapter in my thesis and saving various versions as 3.1 ...3.13 etc. i am also using endnote 7 for the references, but have turned off cite while your write.

I'm using Microsoft Works 2000. My problem is with Microsoft Word. I can open Microsoft Word, and I can save files, but when I try to open them again, the program stops responding. Any ideas on how to fix it?
