I have recently installed Word 2000 into a newly formatted
computer and am using many files that were built in Word
97. It seems that there are some formatting problems
occurring here and I often get an Illegal Error

I am getting a Windows Installer error 1605 when I try to search for
information in Word help (using XP).  The only way to get rid of the
resulting notification is Cntl-Alt-Delete and kill the application.  How can
I fix the search so I get a list of topics and not the 1605 ...

When I try to open Word 2000 this is what I get:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will
be shut donw.  When I click on the CLOSE button the

This is a re-posted message (slightly revised) as my last seemed to be
ignored.
When I click on "file open" I get a message which reads :-
"You do not have access to the folder <default storage folder path>\*.*.

When in word 2003, I would like to have the email icon go
to outlook express but instead it defaults to outlook.

In MS Word there is the "Insert Symbol" feature. "Basic Greek" is a subset of
available characters. The symbol denoted "phi" is actually "varphi", which is
different. In geometry, one always uses "phi" NOT "varphi".

When opening a file containing some pie charts and text I
am faced with the following message:
"there is not enough memory or disk space to display or
print the picture"
