It appears that word is not saving recovery files every 10 minutes. This message comes up. Does anyone know why?

I had been using MS Word 2000 SP-3 without any problems, but something had occurred in the last few days that causes the program to freeze when starting. When trying to open a document or open Word, the program freezes at the splash screen.

When I open a new document and then save it, it locks up when clicking the down arrow (the the right of "Save in:" to navigate to the save location. This is affecting Word and other office apps (excel specifically), and is not an issue when logging into a another account

I have never seen this before or just never noticed it happening. When I retrieve a saved file in Word, the date on the document is automatically being updated to today's date. Not good when I'm trying to go back to document correspondence I've previously sent. How do I stop ...

We recently had this problem on a network where we had installed a brand new HP server. Slow network performance, messages from Outlook "trying to retrieve data from exchange server" and Word just plain failing to save to a network mapped drive with the subject error message.

All of my Word documents from last year and beyond are not accessable. When you double-click or open then in Word, Word starts blinking around the edges then says... "Word cannot open the document: user does not have access priviledges"
