I installed office 2003 pro a few days ago, included the latest updates, and
it all worked good until yesterday, when word simply stopped working:
whichever file I open (old or new, long or short,with  images or simple text)
in a few seconds I getthe "word encountered an error ...

When I try to backspace in  MS Word 2003 to a group of text (such as this
entire message), it doesn't want to and returns the cursor to the first
character. I don't have this problem on any other program on my computer. I
don't have the 'Insert' key on, so I don't have any idea.

I am using Word 2000 and Windows XP.  I always setup my Table of Contents as
a separate section with separate Roman page numbering in the footer, and I
make sure that the Same As Previous is turned off properly.

I double-click the shortcut for Microsoft Office Word 2003 and that rectangle
that always shows up, telling who it's licensed to, shows up, but then it

Word 2003, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP / sp2
We have three users who share templates in Word. I moved the templates
folder to a shared folder on the server so that everyone could create
and share templates. This was working fine and dandy until we upgraded

I used to one-stroke (i.e. Cntrl/B for bold) an entire single word in my
documents.  Now the Bold activates, but does not bold my word unless I select
it also.  The feature is gone for Italics and underscore too.  Will only
apply to selected text.  What happened?  How can i fix?

here's a very big issue, mayb known to some of you. Word 2003 comes with a
default that displays all changes made in a document which has 'track
changes' on.

i have micrsoft xp and i am having  a problem with microsoft word. i can see
every existing file i have in word but none of them will open, when i click
