In Windows XP, using an internal floppy drive, cannot save even new files.
Get message "Word cannot complete the file save due to file permission

This error occurs when opening Word and again when closing Word.

In Word 2002 I get this message when typing a document.

Word 2003 is still opening slow.  I had tried Normal.DOT and the Hkey changes
and at first wow, it looks like it is fixed but running it a few times it
seems to slow back to its normal foreverness to open (load) and exiting.  If
I go back and make the deletions it speeds up again ...

There's a weird, frustrating bug in MS Word:  when ever I click a formatting
option for a selected piece of text, like Bold or a Bullet, the WHOLE

I need help to eliminate a problem with Word 2003 which causes an additional

Starting and stopping Word 2003 takes longer and longer.
Normal.dot has grown to several MB.
When starting with a "fresh" normal.dot (91 kB) it became obvious that
normal.dot grows with 42 kB each time Word is stopped: 91 --> 139 -->

Everytime I open two word documents, and then minimize them, when I go to
