I opened a document originally created in Wordperfect and that I subsequently saved as a Word document. The document is 36 pages and is only text - no tables, graphs, pictures - only text. When I ty to delete the first section break I get the message:

We have an office share drive and have templates that use macros. I have a new computer and when I pull up the template and click enable macros, I get this error message, "Could not load object because it is not available on this machine".

Word 2002 on XP. Invariably after about 10 lines or so of typing the error-report box pops up and Word sets about recovering the document. It doesn't happen if the user is typing an e-mail.

My dad is having some trouble with MS word. Whenever he closes it, the process winword.exe doesn't end. This prevents the computer from going on standby. I have suggested a repair install of office, but he wants to know if there is something he should try first. Any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me how to turn off virus scanning in Word. Every time I open a document I get the 'Requesting Virus Scan' message at the bottom of the screen. I've turned Macro virus scanning down to 'Low' but am still getting this message. Anyone have any ideas ? TIA.

I have Word 2003 on a portable pc. The printer (HP5150) set as default printer is on a WIFI lan. The lan connection is active. When I open any document, Word crashes, proposes to recover the document, after recovery crashes again, and so on.
