this question is for a friend of mine. she runs word 2000. whenever she
clicks on "File" or "Tools" menu the word closes. this is really frustrating.

When I open a new document or template in Word, the headers and footers are
not visible.  I have to manually select H&F from View to bring them up, then
close the option for them to appear on screen.
This is annoying, more so as I bought a new Office Pro disk when I purchased

On my Dad's machine with 98SE & Word2K, he cannot open any Word file.  
At Word startup he gets "Cannot open this document template" messages for
both add-on DOT files he uses, then "The file XXXX.doc is not available" for

Yesterday I mistakenly typed a wrong e-mail address. From there on I was
