I received a file called "stuff.dat" from a client who
states that this is a "word file written on a mac"
I'm trying to open this with Microsoft Word 2000 - tries
to convert it but fails using unicode (utf-8).

I just switched to a pc from a mac and find that almost
all of the graphics in the documents won't transfer.  The
files look fine on many different Macs with different
versions of word but none of the windows versions can read

I have a problem in using word 2002 to access word docs
from earlier versions. I simply get a screen saying select
the encoding that makes your document viewable and various
options of ascii, dos, ansi vietnamese, korean etc etc.

I need to convert a lot of Word files to text format. It would be no problem
if I could use batch conversion, but more or less one year ago I got a virus
and after I cleaned it up most of my files became .DOT files.
I tried to change the extension, but no use. Batch conversion don't ...

Have Word 2000 document that used extensive hyperlinks.  
Need to globally remove all hyperlinks from the text.  I
see that you can do this one link at a time but is there a
way to globally remove all hyperlinks because this

Is anyone familiar with  existing software for Word 2000
that converts .docs to XHTML in a WYSIWYG format, where

Do you know if there is a patch to preserve the Word 97
document with headers/footers and section breaks when it
is opened in Word 2002?  My section breaks;
headers/footers were destroyed, not editable etc.

Like some other people, I have an older machine that came

I have a new Dell with Word Perfect 10 and don't know how
to format in Microsoft Word. I am sending resumes and
because they are not in Word, they are not readable.

Anyone know a third party add-on that will allow

am not able to open two word documents at the same time on the desk top (ie
to read one and add bits to another that is opened).
can open one, then if go to open another it opens bang on top and cannot be
