Whenever I open a previously saved *.doc document it is autoimatically saved as a 1KB document but the first two letters of the title are changed to ~$. Any suggestions as to how to stop this extra save?

I have a new pc w/Office - Word 2003. Can often not translate .pdf files off large, well-used internet sites, whether I try to "open" or save to pc. Get computer symbols. Tried other all conversions listed

As standard, our docs are set to save down to 6/95 but we use 2000. We have a problem with one of our users where the documents she opens (saved down to 6/95) are corrupting

Our computer vendor says that if we upgrade from Word 2000 to a later version of Word we will lose all our macros and templates. Is that correct? kerry
