Every time I hightlight a block of text for deletion, I get a secondary
prompt in the bottom status bar <<Delete Block N/(Y)>> is means that I must
then press the "Y" key to eliminate the text. How can I turn off this thing -
it is driving me crazy and wasting twice as much time. ...

How do I specify the number of lines per page in a munuscript? I want to
restrict the number of lines to each page to 25 lines per page.  This is
standard for publication manuscript format using Courier New 12pt. font.

Maybe this is for the section on page layout...... but....... I have a
document that I would like to print on landscape 8.5 x 11 in a 2-up format so
that after printing I can cut the sheets in half and have 2 books for 3-hole
drilling and placing into binders.

I need to modify a form but its password protected, is there a way to
overwrite the password?

I am trying to use the save my settings wizard in order to move my MS Word
settings from desktop to laptop, but when I run it on my desktop (with Ms
Word closed) it first tells me incorrectly that Word is still open, and then
after I click on the ignore button, it gives me this ...

I have a user (and I use that term loosely) who made changes to a Word
document then went to close it and accidentally clicked "No" when asked if
she'd like to save her changes.  Now she's all panicked about it.  Is there a
way to retrieve what she had typed previously?

I always have to change the view from outline back to Normal and have to
uncheck the "ruler".   Why does this not stay the way I want the view to be?  
Everytime I go into Word, it has changed back again?   I don't know,
obviously, how to change the view permanently?

I've gone to options and ensured the default font color is black. I have
refilled my black ink cartridge. But every envelope I print comes out in red
(actually, more of a fuschia pink).  What am I doing wrong?

Is there any easy way to print barcodes in Word? I have downloaded some
barcode fonts and was wondering if there is a way that I can make a label to
use as a barcode with company name and then barcode and print serialized
numbers?

I've inserted "page x of y" on a Word doc using the autoinsert option. The
numbers in the doc appear OK, but when I print it the page # are wrong.
Instead of "page 1 of 3", "page 2 of 3", and "page 3 of 3", what it prints is
"page 1 of 1", "page 2 of 2", and "page 3 of 3".

I am running win xp with office 97.  When another user runs spell check it
does not work.  How can I fix this?

I have spent 6 hours trying to print page numbers on a multi-page doc. I do
not want page numbers on pages 1-5 (these pages have info in other footers)
and would like page 6 to be the first page number starting with number 1. Can
anyone help?
