Could someone refer me to information about how to format a table of contents? When I select a preset format, such as Formal or Simple, 1st line indents are imposed on headings. I don't even know how to tell whether the indents come from the "TOC style," or from my normal template.

A user I work with has found an unusual bug in Microsoft Word, and I'm wondering if there is a fix for it that ya'll know about. Here's the scenario. It only is a problem when he has Tracking Changes turned on: the find and replace works fine when Tracking Changes is off.

I am working with an application called Doc2Help that takes a word file as input. I am having some problems, and Doc2Help support staff says my Word file is "corrupt". I have no problems opening the file in Word 2003, converting it to PDF, etc, so I don´t quite buy their ...

Typing in :) corrects to a smiley face. How can I do the same for a wink with ;) ?? I know how to use autocorrect, the problem is I can't find a winking face to use. What ascii table is it in?

I'm having problems opening word documents that are through email. It keeps wanting to save them as my normal template and i'm afraid someone in the family has messed something up. Is there somewhere I can redownload the normal template for free?

I am trying to merge data from Excel into Word. The date is not displayed correctly in Word. In Excel, the date is formatted to appear in the cell as February 2, 2006, however in Word, it shows up as 2/2/06. How do I get Word to appear as "February 2, 2006"?

Word 2002. If I type the start of an auto text entry, the auto complete suggestion is not appearing as it used to, so that all I need to do is hit the enter key. I am able to manually insert an auto text. For some reason this function is not working anymore.
