When I try to create a new file, or open an old one, it comes up saying
locked for edit and wont let me do anything.
I have tried resetting pc, ending the process in process viewer and
deleting all temporary files.

How can I insert lines (after name, address) so if someone were to open it
,they could type in the info and retain the formatting, or am I missing
something very simple?

I am trying to document my support within a word file by using endnotes/
footnotes.  However, I do not really want the endnotes/footnotes printed in
the final document.  Is there any way to just hide them rather than deleting
them?

In almost every case I get a page break before my cross reference in my
document. This makes the feature almost impossible to use. Is there a setting
I'm missing?

I installed the office 2003 with the option of equation editor.  It gives an
error message that equation editor encourntering a problem.  reinstalling
does not help.  It is XP profession.  I do not have the problem with the
other laptop.

I recently ran into a problem where files created in Word and saved to
Desktop are suddenly changed to Wordpad files. If I open them in Word they
look fine but when I email them things such as underlines do not appear.

I know Word won't auto-capitalize the first word of a new sentence when the
previous sentence ends in a number, but can you get it to capitalize the
first word of each sentence in a numbered list?  It works for bullets, so why

Set up with File | Page Setup | Layout | Line Numbers | Whole Doc
The body is Arial 9 pt.  The Line Numbers look like Times 12 pt.  
Going to Format | Styles & Formatting does not seem to offer Line Numbers as
