Having problems saving word documents. Screen freezes.

MS Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 2 on Sony VAIO Pentium R 1.7
Ghz, 512 MB RAM - running Skype, Outlook, Dragon Nat Speaking etc.
Shows using 350 MB RAM. So slow I can type 30 words before any show up on
screen etc. I have defragmented etc - "experts" have tried to fix ...

I'm writting a booklet, and it will be "TWO UP" on an 8.5 x 11 page. It has
two columns, and the text on the top half of the page is repeated on the
bottom half of the page, so when I print it, I can cut it in half, making
each page 8.5 x 5.5, allowing me to fold it in half the ...

My problems began yesterday after an automatic update from microsoft.  I
don't know if that was a coincidence or if others are having these problems...
When I try to "save as" in word or excel, the save box comes up but it quits
responding before I can actually choose a folder.  ...

i am using word 2003 it was possible before to make a document in publisher
copy and paste in word 97 and shrink whole (6) page proportionatly to put it
in a flyer a 6 page legal size restaurant menu was converted into a single

We have a problem with WORD printing images (signature in this case) that

i thought i knew alot about word but this ones driving me batty -

some of our word documents have extra spacing between paragraphs and within
