I have two seperate Word documents, one is 21 pages long (Doc A) and the
other is 9 pages long (Doc B). Both have alot of screen shots. They were
documents that someone else had created, and I came in to reformat and add to
them.

A co-worker created a Word document with extension .dot as a fillable form.  
I just need to change the exhibit letter (part of the text), but it doesn't
allow me to type over.  It doesn't even allow me to do copy and paste of all
the text onto another Word doc.  What can I do?

under Insert, symbol. I'm a former Word Perfect user and could do this with

We do a lot of scientific documents and it would be helpful to be able to do
a global replace on symbols.  Is it possible or are we stuck manually doing
60 changes a document?
