I recently tried to open a term paper for editing. The cursor pointer now has
a cassette shape to lower right of cursor. I am not able to edit or even copy
and paste parts of document. I thought this might have something to do with
security but I did not protect the document.

I have somehow managed to switch on a marker which shows the margins on a
page when I'm in print layout view. The marker are two short lines connected
at 90 degrees, pointing towards the writing area.
How do I get rid of those?

I have a user running Word2003 on a Win2k PC, with lastest updates.
Her Horizontal ruler looks to be in millimeter she needs it in inchs, but I

How do you convert a document to ascii or text so that page numbers appear
not in a header but exactly as they appear in the original doc, at the top of
the page (or wherever)?  I've tried Enriched Text, Text only, ANSI, etc.
already, and everything puts pages into headers, or ...

I can´t see my menu bar nor my tool bars. All I get is a splitted document

When editing my document.  I was told to use the show/hide feature to delete
any extra spaces.  Extra being more than 2 from the period to the next
sentence. On some sentences the show/hide will put 1 dot between the word but
then ther is a space after the dot and the next letter ...

Manuscript editing. I need a way to track comments in a seperate document. Is
there a way to just print the text I highlight along with the comments? Or
better yet, can I export the highlighted text and comments into an Excel
workbook and use a different sheet per chapter?

My normal.dot template (blank document) has no top margin (cursor is at very
top of document) but when I go into page settings to change it, it says that
