I try to use Alt Key+a number to get a character but it does not work Why

When I am in Word 2000 and I want to start a new paragraph and I hit enter,
it looks on the screen as if it has spaced only one line, but when I print
the page it has actually skipped four inches.  Please help me fix this.

I had major problems with my computer after trying to un-install McAfee Virus
Scan; apparently it also un-installed components of my operating system.  I
got the comptuer working again through a System Restore, but all the
documents in My Documents (and my Pictures) are now gone. ...

Hi! I'm using a wireless network and trying to print "Pages x to y" of my
document. All others work (All pages / Current Page) work just fine except
this one...  it simply does nothing. Any ideas what it could be? I'm using
Word 2003, although it did the extact same thing in Word ...

word 2007 allows me to insert a filename field into the header. However, the
filename isn't automatically updated if the filename is changed, how can I

I want to edit a student's paper in a font and color different from the
original document.  I don't want to have to go back and reformat my comments
each time as they are defaulting to the student's font.  Any ideas?

The message Caps Lock On / Off  has started to appear  on my screen  in large
green font   I have tried to stop this happening but so far have been
unsucccessful
Can anyone assist?
