A password protected Word document I emailed has come back unprotected and
the sender said he just opened it in OpenOffice and wasn't even aware it had
been password protected.  Is this likely to happen in other MS Office
applications and is there a way to prevent it?

The office 2007 compatibility pack cannot read dotx files.
(I am using Office 2003 Pro)

I modify styles in my document to suit that document. When certain users (not
all) open the document styles display as they should. When certain other
users open the document the style formatting changes i.e. HEADING 1 -

I'm working in MS word. When I open my document that I'm working on, the
pages keep scrolling, although I remain on the same page. In other words, I
open up the document and on the bar at the bottom, it says page1/1, then
keeps scrolling 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, ..........1/5,000 and on ...

Whenever I open a document I do no see the status bar. I know I can get the
